Teen Highway Safety

CATS is committed to efforts that will positively impact teen attitudes and behaviors related to risk taking while driving. We support projects that provide information and education to youth and families related to safe driving habits with a goal to reduce the chance of death or injury to themselves and others. Our projects engage youth and community in efforts to:
• increase awareness of the importance of drivers and passengers always making safe choices with emphasis on seat belt use and distracted and impaired driving.
• create a greater awareness of the laws pertaining to teen drivers
• foster a culture of driving safety among teens and the spirit of peer-to-peer reinforcement of safe practices
• establish advocacy across age groups

Projects benefit from the expertise and resources of local and state partners in traffic and driving safety.

Web resources for teens and for those guiding teen drivers include nhteendrivers.com and nhparentsofteendrivers.com.
